I have always been curious about why travel trailers are always 5th wheel type and horse/livestock trailers are gooseneck type. I understand the difference in hitch styles but not the reason for each application.
Whadya' know?
Thanks.

wangotango,
I was told a gooseneck hitch is used for livestock trailers because it handles offroad terrain better. And a 5th wheel hitch is a safer / more secure hitching system for me and mine. It sounded reasonable to me.
