I know this may be a simple question for most but here it goes. I just purchased a 1995 Motor Home with a 6.5 L diesel. It has a remote water/fuel seperator. Can anyone tell me how to maintain it or drain it? I would sure appreciate the help. You can probably tell that I am not too savy when it comes to maintaining my diesel. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Nornally there will be a drain plug on the bottom of the bowl and a breather on the top of the housing. If th bowl is clear I wouldn't worry about draining anything till you can see dirt or water in it. If it's metal, just open the drain and breather with the engine running and let a pint or 2 drain into a clean container. Check for water and dirt. Some separators have a filter in the upper part of the element, and others just have the separator bowl. Which kind you have determines the maintenance procedures.
