While I love my DMAX it does seem like my 1999 and 2001 Ford PSD got about 2 MPG better milage during very similiar driving conditions. I have 2000 miles on my DMAX and its averaging 17.5 mpg on 40% city and 60% interstates driving.

EXPSD, be patient, keep putting miles on your truck. At 2000 I was getting 16.5mpg, at 5000 I was getting 17mpg, at 8000 I was getting 18.5mpg. Currently at 13500 I still get 18.5mpg on the daily commute, up to 19.5 on long flat trips at 70mph. As far as I know, that beats the 2 guys with PSD's and the 1 guy with CTD around my neighborhood.

I don't know. I hear lots of complaints from PSD owners about poor mileage. Many claim more like 15-16. Lots of variables.

Consider yourselves lucky. 70 mph 100% interstate driving, 15 MPG is the BEST I get. Sometimes worse. And this has been tried on Level 0 -4 on Juice. NO heavy foot accelerations. And, ~85,000 miles running synthetic oil. And DONT give me the "big grill on the front is blocking the wind" issue. Did this BEFORE the grill as well. I have been at a loss of words for this for about a year now.

My '97 K3500 extended cab dually 6.5/5spd averaged 16.5-17 daily driving while the D/A in a crewcab is only averaging 13.5 on the same routes. I'm still waiting for the BIG numbers to come. The best that I have seen so far is 15.4

Check for fuel leaks ... [img]tongue.gif[/img]I hope your trucks are at least more powerful for the increased fuel use. Mine always seemed sluggish in comparison to what some have described but my fuel mileage has been great - 15-17 local, 17-20 highway. BTW I'm at 17,000 miles.

At 1000 miles my truck got 19.9989 mpg. That is the best mileage it has gotten so far. I now have 7300 miles on it, and when running empty almost always get 19.1-19.8
Towing (total gross, "GCVW" 15440-16860#) is no better then 16.4 But that is with about 250 miles empty and 50-125 miles towing. I have yet to tow long distance where I used a complete tank of fuel. But it looks like the mileage will suck bad.

right at 13,457 miles I am getting 20.5 mpg with the six speed the last time I had the gooseneck on 24,000 gcwr I know I know I am over weight I got 12.5 mpg very happy the milage keeps getting better

Like some, I've kept track of every gallon since I got the truck...
16-18.5mpg around city/a little highway.
13.5-15.5mpg towing open carhauler trailer with car on it at 65-97 mph [img]smile.gif[/img] average about 72mph
11.5-12.5mpg towing enclosed 24' carhauler at 65-85mph including Ozark mountains.
21.5mpg unloaded going to TX, 70-97mph [img]smile.gif[/img]
As you can guess, we tend to go with the fastest traffic we can hitch along behind...if ultimate MPG is your aim, these could probably be improved by 1-2+mpg by reducing average speed to 65.

Somebody might have Juice usually on level 2 for towing, they might have BD PowerPlay "for emergency power" [img]smile.gif[/img] on top of that.

Based on posts I've read over at FD.com, they're getting fuel numbers all over the map just like us, 14-20mpg. The newer PSDs seem to be getting 14-17mpg, the older ones maybe a little higher. I don't see any particular pattern to it other than the usual SRW/DRW, 350/250, manual/auto, etc.
The only one I've personally talked to about his PSD mileage ('02 F350 CC LB Dually) is my neighbor who says he gets 14mpg. To me, that means he might be getting somewhere between 14-14.9mpg. I'm averaging 16.5mpg with a lot of city driving, I've seen 20mpg at 55-60mph. Assuming he's putting down 200rwhp, I'm very pleased to be able to produce double the rwhp, at roughly 2mpg better, with a quieter/smoother ride. At the rate things are going, in a couple of yrs, mine is probably gonna sound/ride like the dinosaur.LOL
