I finally took my truck in for the software upgrades last Tuesday. I complained about "Excessive Shifting While Towing With Cruise Control On". I havn't towed with it yet so the only difference that I can see is that it has much quicker throttle response off idle. The truck has always ran fine. I have noticed the late shift to 1st when rolling through a stop sign and had come to expect it and allow for it. I guess I was chalking it up to "quirkyness". I am not sure if it still does it or not. (I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle that wasn't quirky some how or other.)

The service invoice states "Updated PCM Per Bulletin 1517854". I am hoping that STEVEO or BIG Al can tell me if this is a good upgrade or should I go back for another shot? The build date on my truck is 11/00.

This bulletin board is fabulous. I don't post much but I read every word. Thanks guys and gals!!

We towed our little 8000 lb camper to the hills of South Carolina this weekend. The truck holds overdrive in cruise much better than before the update. Even though the bulletin number doesn't match the numbers posted here in the forum, it definitely helps.
