Thread: drive shaft question?

    Does anyone know why some D/A's have a monster drive shaft and others have one that looks about standard for the industry? Mine looks to be about 3/4" larger in diameter than others I have seen in the same configuration vehicle. I have asked 3 different dealers and they seem to have no idea.
    2002 D/A LT CC SWB 2500 4x4 white. 1995 roadking, black 60,000 mi. 1996 32 ft. Holiday Rambler.

    There was a confusing TSB for 'Launch Shrudder on Acceleration' for MY 2001s - the fix involved replacing the two-piece drive shaft with the monster one piece drive shaft. The wording of the bulletin was confusing (at least to me) and MANY discussions ensued on what particular models were involved. My truck was not one of those affected by the service bulletin...

    What does the new (updated)drive shaft look like? Is it steel or alum. like mine? Just curious.Mine is truely a "MONSTER" take a look see.
