Mdrag need tork specks on big lugs

This was in an email reply I received from Arrowcraft:

The torque specs for 14mm studs = 140 ft./lbs
22mm studs = 450-500 ft./lbs


I used 150 ft-lbs on the (8) lugs for the adapter to the hubs, and 450 ft-lbs for the (10) 33mm cap nuts. Alcoa recommends 450-500 ft-lbs - the same number I got from Arrowcraft.

thanks needed that to finish decided not to wait for the aluminum wheels went with the steel iners side wall sticks out 1.25 tread about .75 no rubing on the front lock to lock about 5/8 between the tire and valance did remove my front mud flaps though they rubbed.try to post pics tomarrow.

So did you go with the 245's then? Sounds like you did as your numbers are different than Mdrags.

Got a call today from someone in the 301 area code. He said Bernie gave him my number and this guy wanted to know how I liked my wheels. Strange.....I guess Bernie doesn't care about giving out his customers numbers to the world.

You got the 245/70 19.5" tires - correct? How close is the inner dual sidewall to the spring shackle? It has to be getting pretty close....

I whent with the 245's 1 1\2 to 2" between the spring and tire.

Just got back from vacation finished the conversion looks great I have some wheel vibrations though took pic's tried to post before vacation but did not work try again later I didn't notice any rubing before with full turns on bumps clerance is close but did eventualy rub need to crank on the torsion bars a little about a inch or so got my shocks today going to put them on and raise up the truck a little then take it down for ajustments may have the wheels ckecked still waiting on the inner alcoas running steel inners now bernie siad it would be a little while before he got the refurbs in and to just use the steels until they do.

What air pressure are you using? I've settled on 70-75 psi for the fronts and 65-70 psi for the rears (load range F, max 95 psi). Much too rough with 85-95 psi.

Finding a high quality balancing set-up for these tire/rims could be tough. Rickson makes a big point about balancing these wheels, and IIRC, they use the Hunter Road force balancer:

I do not have the time/desire to trouble shoot tire vibration problems - that was the major reason for me deciding to use the Centramatic balancers.

I forgot to mention that the Bilsteins made a big improvement. I got the rear Bilsteins shortly after I completed the 19.5" conversion, and just the other day, the front Bilsteins came in and were installed. I had plenty of driving time with the OEM shocks on the front, and very pleased with the difference the Bilsteins made, especially the fronts. The big wheels magnify the inadequate OEM shocks...

how much was the centramatic balancers?

I'm trying 65 in the front and 80 in the rear might lower the rears to 70.
I noticed that the wieghts on the alcoa rears fell off wich could be part of the problem.
