Although technically the truck is mine, my SO drives it all the time while I commute much further in the car. We are in the midst of remodeling our new house and he got a load of 5/8 inch drywall. A bunch of 12 footers and 8 footers. So he leaves the supply place with his buddy following so they can unload at the new house. Goes over some RR tracks and whether the bed liner was a tad icy or he hit them too fast the load bounced, truck still went forward and the back edge of the load smacked down on the tailgate then onto the ground. Took them a half hour to load them all back into the truck while they blocked traffic. Surprisingly enough the 12 footers only cracked/broke on about the last foot of the sheets, 8 footers were fine. The tailgate hinges are pretty bent but it didnt smack into the bumper. Seems like the cables are stronger than the hinges.
