Thread: manual vs. electric for swap

I am wanting to swap a 6.5 into my 88 1-ton (tb 350). As far as the swap goes, how much harder is it to place the 94 up vs. the 93? I have looked for a few months (maybe in the wrong places) but all I have found are the electric pump 6.5s. If anyone has done this swap, or can point me in the right direction for some info it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you want to use a 94-up you'll need all the sensors, the computer, things like the electronic accelerator pedal, etc. If all you can find is a 94-up, just install a 82-93 pump on it and all you'll need is ignition hot power for the solenoid.

Thank you Phil! I have been sweating this project, but with your info I suppose it's time to get my hands dirty. Thanks again!

I had been looking for a '93 for quite awhile. To make it harder, I also wanted a 5-speed manual. Finally found one and bought it last weekend.
