Does anyone know the torque value for the upper shock absorber frame stud on a 1983 Chevy C-30 ? I found one of the studs moving up and down with the movement of the front suspension. This hole is elongated and needs repair. The other side I found a little loose, and was able to tighten it up. Checked in my Helms manual, but could not find a reference for this value.

Also, anyone know what type of lube to use to lubricate a squeaking speedometer cable on the same truck?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hammer,

Tighten until you twist it off and then back it off 1/8th turn.

Sorry, don't really know a value but my bet would be "pretty snug" just due to the use / abuse of the fastener.
