A/C system installed!

I finally completed the mechanical portion of the A/C installation - thanks to member & A/C Guru Gordon Marks. The A/C condenser was modified to fit and a new set of hoses were custom made to work with the new GM compressor installed on the Duramax, and fit the existing A/C system on the truck.

I'll schedule an appointment this week with the local GM dealer to get it pressure tested, evacuated and then charged with R134a & lubricant.

An illustrated project update will follow in a week or two showing the mods, and will include an explanation on how to use the hose crimper to produce a custom set of hoses.

Having a hot truck was not supposed to mean a sweltering interior. Getting the air conditioning operational was more of a challenge than I expected, but the last remaining puzzles have been worked out with help from A/C guru Gordon Marks of Marks Air.
