Thread: Skip Disneyland this summer!

With the high cost of diesel here in Southern California you all might want to consider skipping a trip here this summer. Diesel is currently at about $2.33 per gallon. Leaded gas low, medium and high grade are about $2.10, $2.20 and $2.30 respectively. Do not ask why diesel has shot above High test. Every thing went wacky in the recent price increases. No new formulation changes here so it is the oil companies.

Ah, to bad the "good old days" are gone. If I scatch real hard I can remember $0.40 for deisel.

And $0.23 for regular gas. That was just arround the corner from Rubidoux HS on Mission Blvd.

But that was when twise a year all you could smell arround Riverside was orange blossoms!

Cheapest gas I ever bought was 22.9 cents a gallon in Anaheim, summer of 72. Daughter went to Rubidoux High, we are in Mira Loma area. They just finished a landscaping beautification project on Mission Blvd and Limonite. Beautifying Rubidoux is a difficult task!

Currently $1.67 for diesel in the Mid-West, with regular gas at $1.75. Will skip Disney for now.

    Cool

I just figured out what our price would be per U.S. gallon and it works out to $2.57. In imperial gallons we are paying $3.08 (or .67.9 a litre) Regular gas just spiked at 85.5 a litre ($3.23 a us gal.) yesterday. A fill up for my truck usually costs $52 to $55 so I hope diesel doesn't go that high.

On edit I just figured out what Diesel in California would be in Canadian dollars and it works out to $3.02 a gal. Looks like the price that I pay all the time!!!

You guy's are making me feel old, on second thought I am OLD! But I'll never grow up! I remember when diesel was 18 cents a gallon US. &
Gas was 27.9 cents. WOW a fill up for $5. And they gave stuff away like transistor radios and China to get you to come in and buy gas.And anyone remember Green savings stamps? And they pumped your gas for you and cleaned your windshied. But that was when I was earning $2.25 an hour turning wrenches. But I feel lucky, here in the east diesel is about $1.69 a gallon. I hope our prices don't get up there like you have in California and Canada. Why are they so high out there?

I'm paying between $1.52 and $1.55 per gallon for diesel here in Atlanta.

Gas prices are around $1.55 for reg unleaded, $1.65 for unleaded plus and $1.75 for premium unleaded. Those are the no name or generic brands like QT, Racetrac, etc. Chevron, Shell, BP and such are higher, about $.05 to $.15 per grade.

    Craig,
Does your water glow in the dark?
You can probably check with the county and pull up the records. To keep on topic, check for deisel in it too!

There was quite a settlement after all was said and done. I received 19.5k Email me and I can probably recall more info. a5150nut at hotmail dot com

I was in a hurry yesterday in my GMC Astro 95 and stoped at a local 7/11, price was $2.49 per gallon. The normal truck stops are slightly better at $2.39 or so, but still way to high. I have resurected out 81 VW pickup (diesel and 5 speed of course) and am using it when possible. 45 mpg is nice at these prices.

Bought our house after the settlements and had to sign papers saying I knew about the condition.

Here in Central Wisconsin Diesel is 1.799 give or take a penny and regular gas is 1.949 with Premium 2.139. This is the highest gas has ever been in Wisconsin. Of course the state just upped yhe tax a few cents also. Trying to sneak it through when prices are changing so we wont notice.

My ext cab 3/4 ton Lt is averaging 18.9 mpg for first 1200 miles. I need to update my profile as I have my new truck.

Call me stupid an possibly confused. Ain't Gas made from Diesel? Here in El Passo, it depends on where you go. At Flying J it's $1.72 while accross the street an also about 2 miles down I10 its a $1.79. Why would anyone want to go to Pilot or Petro an pay 7cents more is beyond me.
Thouigh in other area's of El Passo it goes as high as $1.89 Up it NM its as high as $1.99.

OK all you trucker's out there. If you all would either go on stike or stage a slow down for better prices, why couldn't that work. I know all those big rigs hawling all that freight all over the country is making a big hole in your wallet. Right. I also realize that when the trucker's were to go on stike other prices would go up up up. But, hell they already are an fuel is to.
Sign me as tired of paying high prises for fuel that big business is contro9lling.

Here in Butte MT ( and noted in Billings 2 weeks ago) - Diesel $1.98 - basic unleaded (85 octane) is $1.99. Dang Diesel was 0.89 when I bought the truck.
I noticed on the way back from MI that even in MI- Upper Peninsula that Diesel was @1.71- 1.75 while unleaded ( 87 octane) was 2.00+. Can't tell me transportation costs are cheaper to haul fuel to the U.P.

Seems we're getting the stinky end of the stick here. ( whine whine)

Diesel $2.17 the last two weeks and magically dropped to $2.14 this morning - Flying J Boise

Briefly, diesel was more than premium...either way it sucks as the wifes car takes premium for her supercharger...might be time to trade hers in for a tdi.

Diesel is about 5 cents lower than low-grade gas around Seattle. I have seen it fluctuate though - at times it has been 30 cents cheaper than low grade (was $1.55 and regular gas was $1.85), and other times it has been the same price as super. Makes no sense.

But, what is better, paying $2.30/gal for gas and getting 10mpg, or paying $2.50/gal for diesel and getting 17+ mpg?
