    Related to engine speed. Louder when in gear. Don't have to be moving. No skid plates. Checked fan, driveshaft. Will check xfer case fluid level when I get a chance. Any other ideas? No warranty, so I'll be doing this meself.

    Could be loose torque converter bolts. Wouldn't be the first time. If it is, the flex plate will break soon.

    Well, the tranny was replaced around 15k miles when they did the driveshaft replacement. It has about 40k on it now. Looks like I'll have to go get a service manual now.
