    Question Speedo to 700r4 gasket/o-ring?

Is there supposed to be some sort of gasket or o-ring where the speedo cable screws into a 700r4? Mine seems to bottom out the threads and it drips trans fluid. Thanks.

IIRC, there is an o-ring on the shaft in the trans, not on the cable. The whole assembly is held in with one bolt. Remove the bolt/clamp and the shaft and housing will come out.

It's a seal, not really an -ring. It's accessable w/o taking out the speedo gear housing. All you need to do is remove the small c-clip holding in the seal, and have the new one handy, they're orange in color.
