Some t-stat facts....
GM installed 180 degree t-stats in the 1980s 6.2L diesel engines.
GM upped the temp to 195 in the 1990s.
Peninsular Diesel installed (and may still) 160 degree t-stats in their marine 6.2/6.5 diesels.
