    Default tranny fluid change

Hello, i am looking at changing my tranny fluid this weekend. Not planning on flushing just planning on draining the pan and changing the filter. I was just wondering how many gallons to expect to replace and what type of fluid you all are recommending?

    thanks

If you are draining the trans pan with the drain plug and not taking the pan off you will need 7.5 qts. if you take the pan off I think you will need approx. 10 or 12 qts. I would recommend a synthetic preferably Amsoil Torque Drive or Castrol Transynd. Do a search on trans fliud drain and you should find all the info you need.

About 2 gallons of Dexron III or higher. It wouldn't hurt to use a good synthetic fluid, even though all the fluid won't be. I don't know of any Dexron III synthetic fluid that isn't compatible with dino fluid.
