I have no confidence in the federal election system, the left broke state laws the last go around and there was no consequence. Who’s going to stop them
This time?

I know that urban sprawl over the last 50 + years in CA had pushed commuters out into the nether reaches of sanity for time/miles of a daily commute. Now add $8 gas...
California was among the first to repurpose gas tax revenue to fill holes in their state's general budget - something the gas tax was never supposed to be used for... Roads, bridges, highway infrastructures were the reasons used for a gas tax in the first place. It was easy to persuade voters to vote for a tax that put motorists on the hook for roads, bridges, etc.

We are rapidly approaching Ludicrous Speed. I fear we'll be seeing Plaid sooner than later.
Beware the bait & switch. Fuel costs are the headliners, for obvious reasons, but not the only elephant in the room. Keep an eye on DEF supplies and costs (as it may apply to you). It can't cross burned bridges. The EPA doesn't care if you are dead on the shoulder, or can't cross an intersection quick enough to not get T-boned. Run low and, "Reduced Propulsion Power" will be the understatement of the year. If you've experienced this, you know what I mean.
Diesel fuel has reached $6/gal in a few out of the way places here in Montana - $5.80/90 where I buy fuel locally.
Is the US now officially in a r e c e s s i o n? Not looking good for the blue on the ballot this fall.

Fuel prices have been slowly easing back down in my neck of the woods. Gasoline can be had from a few spots for $3.98 locally, and I paid $4.99 for diesel this morning, and learned of another station nearby that had it advertised at $4.93.
I just back from a 2 week camping trip across Missouri, and paid between $5.29 and $5.39 for the entire trip.

Last week I was up near the Maine boarder and there's one station up there that is consistently lower than everyone else. Paid 5.699. (Gas Buddy says he's at $4.99 today!) This week, around here, there are a few stations that have dropped to a few cents below $6.00, but there's still a long way to go...

Just finished a 700 mile round way trip from northern to southern Illinois and back.
Cost me almost exactly $400 in fuel -- the fill-up near home in the west suburbs of Chicago was at $5.99.
Grr...
Prices sure come down slower than they go up. TA near the freeway has come from a high of 5.759 down to 5.629
Gas buddy ranges 5.099 to 5.799 for this area

Drove about 840 miles this past week here in Montana. Diesel fuel prices ranged from a low of about $5.89 to a high of $6.04 on I-90 west of Bozeman, MT.
Cost ~$228 to drive 840 miles - at 22-mpg in Lil Red. I saw quite a few campers and RVs on the highway, but will people continue to pay these prices?

It happened to me again yesterday. I filled up in the morning for $4.89, and then on the way home after work, it had dropped to $4.79!
