    Question Shocks Recommendation

    Just got back from my first trip since the rebuild was complete. Cruised great and got 20+ mpg round trip even against a pretty good head wind going out to Portland OR. A few years ago I put some pretty stiff Monroe shocks on it and the trip was almost unbearably jarring. Can you all recommend a set of shocks to make this thing ride like a nice half ton 2WD again?     I'm interested in what others have tried in this same situation as well.

    My '86 has the same shocks (Monroe Sensatrak - Black tube) and I noticed the same thing...

    But, since I also own the 3/4 ton burb, the 1/2 ton with the Monroes feels "mushy" anyways.

    But I know what you mean.

    Some of the ride is also in your tires too.
