Default LBZ Air Intake, Stock or Not?

Ive been hearing from a lot of people that it is a waste of money to install an aftermarket intake system on the LBZ. Most people say just throw in a K&N or Airraid filter, and its just as good as any aftermarket intake system. Whats everyones opinion on this? any numbers to show this is true?

I use an AFE stage II intake and i like it just fine. I havn't taken it to the dyno to see if i actually gained anything but a hole in my wallet. Dont really care though. I like the sound better. I imagine i gained a little something because the intake tube is smooth rather than ribbed, but probably not that much. Otherwise i am pleased with my purchase.
06 GMC LBZ - stock for now
