98 with cracked heads

Have any of you had an engine with 2 cracked heads at the same time? My 98 has 172,000 miles on it and about month and half ago started eating antifreeze but nothing in oil just some white smoke. I also have unexplained vibration that is terrible at idle. Took the heads off and they had to check them twice before they found crack. It does not appear theat old heads were wraped so that was not in question. Put the new heads on and ran for couple of hours and now eating antifreeze and white smoke again. Placed die in coolant and ran and could not find significant leak. Shop that I got heads from is retesting to make sure they are ok. Anyone have any ideas for me?

When you pulled heads off the first time, did you pinpoint which cylinder was using the antifreeze.

There should have been some indications in the hole that was contaminated that would give it away.
