Sorry mis spelled it, resonator is the correct spelling per the AFE install instructions. The black thing on top of the motor that says Duramax 6.6 hooks to the air intake line leading to the engine inlet.Originally Posted by More Power

The idea behind the resonator is supposedly to tune out certain frequencies of noise. You can try running without and see how it works. The 2001 models did not have this device.
