    History of bad inj pump

Bought Truck with 43K miles, Very good condition,
with inj pump replaced at 26K miles.

The first time I drove it I noticed a miss/
at about 1600 rpm when converter locked up
ran smooth under hard acceleration or above 1700rpm

45k mile, would not start, or start and quit,
Remote mount FSD fixed problem( I reconnected BAD pump FSD, it would fail after a few weeks and
    cooler temp.

All's well with remote FSD for a few mounths,

Stall, restart ok, happened several times.
Dealer said it had one short inj pulse code..
    Probably FSD,

Install New FSD on remote mount, alls well for a year...

Stall/ restart several times, hook up bad
pump FSD , drive to Standyne, read codes, none...

BAD FSD ?, By new one , alls well for 2 mounths.

Go on long trip, 104 deg, stalls several times.
    install old FSD same thing,

Next Day after 20 minutes stalls several times than ok all day.....

Call Gomer ( Probably Pump )
Start to Drive from Neb to Missoula,

Starts to stall several times when ever eng
restarted , Now Windshield wipers quite.
Stop for new Control unit ( Serv Bul)
Ask Chev to replace pump, No codes.

Drive truck No stall., No Pump.....

Start driving to Missula, Stalls 4 hours latter..after restarting at rest area...

    Replace PUMP
Thanks Gomer and Rocky mountain Diesel!!!!!!!!

12K Miles Latter, Runs Great AND no
    miss at 1600rpm!!!!!!!

5k Miles on remote FSD that I thought was Bad,
I am now in the process of testing all my suspect FSD's

Bottom Line.......1. Intermittent Stalls may not
    be FSD.
    2. Screw GM Service...

I bought a coupla dead IPs off ebay to tear down just for the education. Better'n a seminar. Saved all the add-on parts for spares since its usually the fuel solenoid that causes the stall/bad start problem and the other parts are still good.
Ditto on GM service; only service they're really good at is on behalf of GM. Toyota knows about customer service, so its no wonder Detroit is scared of their big pickups.
