    Unhappy Pop a precup

Well got the heads off both had badly cracked precupS and one had came apart, thats where the water came from. NOW WHAT TO DO,, new heads, one new piston, or used motor, too much for a rebuild, the engine ran great, good oil pressure, no oil consumption and looked pretty good other than a few dings in the BACK piston. Any suggestion should i fix this engine or go for another one.

Where'd the water come from? Head gasket? Cracked head?

If the cylinder wall isn't damaged (unrepairable), replace/repair what is damaged and throw it back together. Be sure to check all components of that cylinder for damage. Cracks in the cups is normal. As long as the cracks don't cross the fire ring or a chunk isn't about to come out (or came out), they're fine. Snap some pics of it and we can tell you if they are OK. (white crayon or chalk helps get the cracks to show up for the pic)
