    Default Alternator Question

ok, it looks like I am going to buy a 1982 Suburban with the 6.2 diesel engine and a banks after market turbo. The body is rough, but I am going to see what I can do. The electric windows are shot, but I am going to see what I can do. The question I have is, if this thing came stock with a larger alternator? I know it has 2 batteries and would guess that it has the bigger alternator, but have no idea what "stock" was in 1982. Does anybody know?

    CaptRon,

63 Amp is the stock alternator for those years. My 84 still has the original in place. The 83 has been upgraded to about a 97 amp unit.

If interested in upgrading the alt. look at what the vette and camero guys are doing.
