    Default Tekonsha Voyager

Maybe someone has seen this before and can save me a bit of time....'02 D/A with a Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. LED in the controller illuminated even without the trailer plugged in. LED completely reacts as though the trailer is there...green while driving and amber to red while braking the truck. A ground fault in the blue brake wire seems to be the cause as the controller is sensing the trailer to be there. Any obvious places to start looking? I've cleaned out the rear connector but found nothing present in terms of corrosion etc.

Underside of the truck is covered in ice, snow and assorted other road crud at this time of year so a starting point would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I've had them, and others, do that before. If all the wiring is in good shape, I'd suspect moisture at a connector or wire splice. If there is salt mixed in with the moisture, it will happen sooner and more frequently. The controllers are quite sensitive to resistance, so just about any circuit closure, even water, will show as resistance, indicating something at the other end.
