I recently seen a 4x4 TV show showing a Jeep Wrangler diesel conversion to a Jetta engine advertising 40mpg. Can anyone give me some suggestion on what engine I should be looking for.. They also said conversion kits are available because this is a popular conversion.

I frequent a few Jeep boards and have not heard of anyone doing that swap yet. A few 4bt, 6.2/6.5, and even a 5 cyl Nissan, but no Jetta engine.

I'd try a google search and see what comes up.

Haven't heard about Jeeps, but know of a few VW TDI 1.6L and 1.9L engines swapped into Toyotas and Suzukis.
