    Default rust spots

I didn't know where else to ask about this. On my '07 GMC I have tiny little rust spots everywhere, the dealership calls it "rail dust" and since I have over 12,000 miles they won't do anything about it, and it's less than a year old. I know it's from the brakes (little pieces of steel embedded in the paint) anybody know how to get it off???

    mr. monte,

You could try a Clay bar to remove the "rail dust" ..they are available from several different suppliers.. I've seen them at Wal-Mart .. Zaino's is also popular choice ...

See these links for more info rail dust ... cleaning with clay

also Google "rail dust rust spots" and "clay bar auto"

I use this on my antique car and daily drivers. Best product on the market IMO. Get the clay and speed shine.

It is brake dust!!!! It is the metallic from the brake pads my truck is white and I just repainted it and it has specks all over it, if you use a good semi truck wash soap it will take it right off!! my truck is a 03, but in a month you will have to clean it good again. I finally put non matallic pads on mine and it took care of it.
