    Thumbs up new forum member

Hello to everyone on this forum, I'd like to present myself. I'm Gérard, living in France as well as in Holland. Cars, trucks, trailers, cranes and boom lifts are my business ( repair and renting them out). I own a '95 K2500 6.5 Turbo diesel in Silverado trim, 130 k miles on the clock, bought it a little while ago. The truck is in reasonable shape, though very mistreated by its previous owner. Once I am sure it behaves well I'll give it a total overhaul as far as body and interior are conserned. I already replaced the Toyota rims that were mounted by original GM alloy rims and Goodrich tyres for a start. Had some problems when I bought it, car was hickuping and had not enough power, this was easily solved by replacing the lift pump. PMD is still functioning apart from SES light coming on now and then when driving on cruise control at app. 55-60 mph, which is not too disturbing as I don't notice anything. I'm going to mount a Dtech remote PMD to avoid any troubles.
I love the red colour, it's sturdy looks, the luxury leather interior with all its luxurious features and the fact that everything on this type of truck is over-dimensioned, at least from a European point of view.
I tumbled on to this forum and have found a lot of useful info, so I think the least I can do is to present myself, hoping to find lots of other useful info and maybe contributing a bit sometime...

For now a good weekend to all!

Welcome to the Page and a hello from across the pond. I spent some time in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. I really enjoyed my time in Normandy. Beautiful. I could not imagine trying to drive a full size truck in Europe. Small roads, high fuels prices.

yeah well, the small roads you get used to, the high fuel prices never..

anyway, I am glad to hear you liked it out here. I'm hoping to visit the US and Canada some time in the near future, bt to do it right I'll have to spend a couple of months out there to be able to see a bit of your continent.

Got some other stuff made in the USA as well, a 1986 Grove 20 meter boom lift and a 1952 REO wrecker truck which is re-motorized with a wonderful Berliet 10 litre 180 hp diesel engine, and I love it! The whole set up is for it to last a 100 years

Wonderful to see "made in the USA" on parts when you take it off, or made in France on my European stuff. I very much dislike anything made in asia, especially China. I regret to see that nowadays even Citroen cars have parts "made in China" in them

    Gerard - Welcome aboard!

Nice looking truck. I highly recommend a 3.5" (or larger) exhaust, boost/EGT gauges, performance chip, and some extra boost for your 6.5L Chevrolet.

You will be amazed at the increase in power, and fuel economy.
