Well as many know I am building a turbo 6.2 for a 91 Burb 1500 4x4

I bought a 6.2 from a fellow with the Banks kit and all the goodies from the fan to the tail pipe.

Lovely Banks Kit.

Well the thing had been pressurizing the cooling system and things looked a tad nasty.

The Block looked as though #8 cylinder was cracked but after much testing with pressure both cold and with the block full of 180F water, NO leaks

The bottom end turned up fairly good with only two small cracks in number 2 & 3 main. (Inserts will fix easily)

The deck though needs to be cut .010" as the RH side has a nasty erroded spot around the Number 2 cyl fire ring.

I really dont want to spend the $$$ on the block but it is definately a keeper.

I dug out my RED block that I did the inserts on the outer main bolt holes.
Got it on the stand and gave it a real dutch scrub today.

Hot washed it well and then honed the cyl's good and rewashed it.

Decks are fine and will serve well with a set of 6.5 gaskets.

The only things left to do is get a set of cam bearings poked in and drive in the new soft plugs.

Bought a couple cans of Cat yellow (Old dark type) to paint the little beast.

Thinking about getting the Valve covers chromed BUT will see.

Got the crank back all pollished up as well as the rods and pistons back with new wrist pin bushings.

Found a set of rings and bearings on FleaBay real right (Mahle bearings and Federal Mogul rings at about 1/2 wholsale price)

Boxes looked a tad rough but the goods are fine.

Got a 4911 IP to drop on the sucker to feed the juice to it

Spoke with Mark over at Diesel Fuel Injection service and he thought that would be perfect for the 6.2 with the Banks turbo.

Got one head pressure tested and all is well. Will do the other one soon.

Going to stick with the small precup 6.2 heads.
This will make plenty of OOOOMPH and still get great MPG too.

Truck has 3.73 Butt gears with the 700R4 so it should be sweet.

The 87 Burb I got on a trade deal has a new radiator in it as well as a lot of other good stuff. (Will rob from it as needed)

Will use the Hydro booster and Master cyl. The sound pad on the firewall is pristine too

The 91 is just like new inside so this me thinks it's gonna be a real sweet little ride.

Just gotta find someone who loves Mice to take the 350 off my hands.

Very tired tonight but very happy camper.

So stressed out over all the politics that I just needed a good wrench fix today and try and forget all that stuff.

Missy heads off to do some serious Horizontal stretching.

Best to all
