    Troy,
I put a 93 NV4500 in my old 82 3/4T 4x4 a few years ago. You will have to build a spacer for the trans mount, or use an 85 up trans mount. (Your's being an 84 MAY possibly have the later style mount, as I have an 84 also, but it has mechanical clutch linkage)
As for clutch, you will need to use one for the transmission, as my 82 had a new B&B and it hit the clutch fork. As to the line, I cut the steel line to the master cylinder (I swapped in the hyd clutch pedals) and tied it into the NV4500 plastic line.
The 4500 shifter is further back, so I drew an rectangular outline around my hole in the floor, 1" forward of the hole, and 4" aft of the hole. (I needed to move my hole rearward 3") Cut it out, turned cut out piece around, and welded back in. This way, I used my original shift boot, etc. I was replacing the floor mat at the time anyways, so it looked like a factory install.

    Hope this helps.

So, what type of bellhousing is necessary to go in between the tranny and the engine?

A standard GM NV4500 bellhousing will work - the 6.2 and 6.5 share the same pattern.
