Hi all,
Working on my neighbor's pickup(93 6.5) that had water in the oil and building pressure in the rad. I pulled both heads and all of the lower 4 head bolts on each side had coolant running out of them when I pulled the bolts out. I can't see any real visible cracks on the heads, except for the precombustion chambers. The head gaskets look ok, too. Must be cracked internally? This is the first 6.5 that I've had the heads off of. I've pulled many 3406 CAT heads, but this pickup stuff is kinda new to me. It also appears the rings never seated real good by the looks of the cylinder walls. There was a lot of oil residue from the CDR all the way through the intake. I wish I would have checked for blow-by before I tore it apart. The engine is a GM Goodwrench with about 81k on it. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas for me. Thanks for the help.
