    Question diesel fuel

    can anyone tell me how fine you have to filter diesel fuel so it will not affect my duramax.(I have alot of fuel with rust particles in it. Any info would be helpful.

    Welcome to the board!

    The latest Duramax fuel filter will filter down to nearly 2-micron. How did your fuel get the rust particles? Depending on bad the fuel is and how much of it there is, a choice might be to not use it in the Duramax.

    What is the latest dmax brand of fuel filter? OEM GM?

    If you have "rusty" fuel, I wouldn't run it in ANY pump. Maybe in a steam cleaner, torpedo heater, or as home heating fuel, but NOT in any engine. Rust is iron oxide, and VERY abrasive. If you can see it, the level is 1,000's times too much already. Particles can/will be sub-micron. Smaller than any consumer-available filter system can safely process. You'd need a centrifuge to clean it up to a suitable particulate level.
