New diesel owner

Sorry I don't have a picture yet. I'm not brand new.
I purchased a used 2006 Duramax SLT with 89,000 Miles January 2012. I pull a light 5th Wheel camper. The 1/2 ton Chevy I had was really working hard so I decided to go diesel.. I also occasionally pull a trailer loaded with a 5,000 pound tractor. The Duramax handles it like it isn't even there.
I see there is more to know with the Diesel so I am hoping this site can help me through the learning curve

Welcome to the board! I imagine you were surprised a bit with the towing ability of the Duramax.

Yeah I remember towing my GTO as the first try a towing anything and thinking the truck really settled down to a more comfortable driving feel. It is like I need to be towing something or the truck is just not happy with the road.

My learning curve is more about going from small (90hp VW TDI) to big honking beast. Even though both seem to share the same 2k RPM sweet spot.
