Strange Occurence During Regen Cycle

Whenever my 2012 3500HD Duramax undergoes an emission regeneration cycle, my compass reads 180 degrees different than real direction I am headed. I can't think of a good reason for this, other than perhaps a bad ground somewhere. Has anyone got any guesses or perhaps experienced this weird happening?
