I've been looking all over the internet for a nose bracket for my 82 c10 6.2 diesel with no luck any suggestions

Check out my thread. (replacement starter W/pics) I had the same problem. Do you have the original starter, or an aftermarket geardriven starter? And by all means, "Do Not" run it very long without that bracket.

This is my third starter they keep shorting out I believe it is oem I put a new shut off solenoid in and the other day the starter sounded funny then it sounded like the alternator belt was slipping then it die no power new solenoid is junk

Sounds like you've got bigger issues than a nose housing bracket. Can you post a video of it cranking?
