Did you upgrade the muffler bearings?

You might also consider changing the fuel filter.

still really sounds like you are not getting enough fuel.
When you step on it does make some smoke?

    what's this in?

Please fill out your signature with your truck, year, make, model.

Do you have an EGR engine (vin C)?

Do not turn up the fuel, it sounds like you have plenty already with the black smoke comment. You may have an EGR valve trying to open causing your lack of power and creating black smoke.

    Don't turn up the fuel.
As stated above, is your truck an EGR engine? Can you tell us what it looks like in the intake when the air cleaner is removed? Does it have a "dohicky" mounted inside the intake or is it just wide open?
Does your driver side exhaust manifold have a restrictor valve in it? This would be right at the outlet of the manifold.

    Howdy
Do a search on this page for "remove egr"
It will pop up some good threads.
A good one right at the top is something like "J code worth it?"
This will help explain what we are talking about and how it can limit performance.
Just out of curiosity....do you know what gears you have? None of my trucks will easily hit 100.

I'm not sure about gears but before it would haul some ass and the vacuum on the egr valve that go's to the little box thing with coper wire in it broke free from whatever it's supposed to be mounted to and u can see the wire on the in side of it could that be it cause it's not working I looked up what it's supposed to do and it's not doing it

I'd replace the intake manifold with a non-egr version. As a test you can disable the EGR by plugging the hose going to the EGR valve.

search for uniquediesel, they have J code intakes.
