I drove with a buddy of mine from St Louis to Lenexa (KC) Kansas to pic up his new 25 foot starcraft boat. I offered (many times) to haul it back with my dually, but he repetedtly declined, saying his truck would be fine.

According to the Manufactures Info, this thing weighs 7242 Lbs. on the trailer. We pulled it home with a light duty 5 lug C1500 with the 5.7 gasser and the 3.42 gears. I had no idea how big this boat was untill I saw it. I started calling it the 'death star' because most people walk up to it going "LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING".

Needless to say, the old gasser was NOT happy with the task at hand. And to be honest, My 6.5 would have probably worked up a sweat in places too.

Wow what a ride! I'll post pictures when they are developed.

Starcraft has a pic on their website at

To get a sense of how big this sucker is, you have to realize that the steering wheel is a full size boat unit.

A 25'er is big, especially if you spent your whole life in 16-18'ers. My biggest so far was a 24' Bayliner Trophy Hardtop. Come out to the NC Outer Banks and take a spin on a 50' Buddy Davis, complete with twin turbo diesels (2 V-12 1500HP DDCs, not 6.5 toys) for a real thrill. You know you've got serious horsepower when the engine fuel line look like the hose at a gas station pump.

Watched a guy tow a 32' Baja, with a pontiac 6000; then had to look away!

    He said it was fine
