Default 6.2 vacuum pump to 6.5 vacuum pump??

Will the 6.5 vacuum pump delete gear shaft fit and replace/delete the 6.2? The rear shaft in back of 6.5 block where the 6.2 vacuum pump is located, fit 6.2? I am thinking about swapping vacuum pumps to give serp belt less vibration.

It will fit. You can also use an engine speed signal generator in its place (so you won't need it from the alternator). Dr. Lee, IIRC, did an extensive thread topic on that. Other options include using idler(s) in your serp setup. What is your need for a vac pump? HVAC? If so, that need is minimal, and can be operated with an electric pump.

Thanks for that info! Need it for the th400. It uses vacuum for the shifting points.

Gotcha. There are mechanical conversion options, but I haven't seen a good one yet.
