I have a 93 6.2L and its in need of a bottom end rebuild. I have the block in the shop and would like to hear from anyone that knows if there is a ceramic top piston. I run a Banks Turbo on this motor and pull a 40ft RV so the EGT can jump up there.
    Thanks

I've just gotten a set of The Diesel Depot's Ceramic coated topped pistons for my 6.2 rebuild. I'm sure that Casey will chime in here and give his opinion of them as well. This is probably going to be the best route to protect the pistom from the increased heat they'll be experiencing due to the turbo.

You'll need to mic the cylinder bores carefully before deciding what size piston you're going to need though.

Also, there are going to be other things you're going to want to do as far as cooling to pull the load you're talking about.

So, let me get this straight, you've got a 93 model truck that came with a 6.2 from factory?

Well not quite. This was a new GM 6.2L REPLACEMENT ENGINE. Truck is actually an 82 J series.

So what is the cast number on your block?
