I can feel my power steering pump v-belt groan, especially when cold. When I have the a/c belt on they both really groan. (The a/c belt also runs on the power steering pulley.) It happens at slower rmp's (idle and just off idle). I have the NAPA gates belts. These are the notched typed of belts. Does that contribute to the groaning? My brackets are all tight and seem to be aligned. Any suggestions for a cure? Thanks.

Randy, do you have a lot of vibration in your belts? after reading the article by Jim Bigley I replaced my stamped steel crank belt pulley for the newer improved torsional damper pulley.
A little pricey but my belts stay straight and true now vibration free.

    Question

Groaning still there. I am going to replace the stamped steel pulley with the rubber one soon. On inspection today I noticed that my fan pulley is wobbling. Wonder if the groan could be coming from there. Anyone else had a problem with that pulley warping?
