    My question deals with a statement made in gmctd's post in another thread about the changes made to the 6.5 IP's: "Throttle guide stud is externally adjustable for governor tip-in". As I recall there is a spring in the stud assembly and an adjustable nut on the back of the IP housing through which the stud is screwed. How do you set the adjustment on this stud and what does it affect in terms of pump performance and operation. What is governor tip-in? Thanks for the info.

    Purpose of the governor is to limit max rpm by reducing fuel, no matter how hard driver presses accelerator pedal. The stud adjustment is made at the factory, then a plastic locking cap is placed over the nut and screw.
    Tip-in, in this case, is rpm where the governor begins to limit fuel, spec'ed for the 6.5 by GM to Stanadyne. May be another Stanadyne specific term for it, but - a rose by any other name, and etc.
