Hi Captain ;have you checked the neutral safety switch if automatic or the clutch sw if manual?
Use a volt meter to see if you're getting 12v to the "S" or "M" terminal on the starter solenoid with the ignition switched on.
My 1985 CUCV uses a starter relay to supply the 12v feed to the "S" term., so find out if you have a relay, also check the ignition switch itself.
