We added the Duramax to our fleet. We now are having fuel pump problems, Some not even in service for a week. Is this a known problem?

    Welcome to the forums!

You need to be more specific. What problems are you having with the fuel pump? The Duramax fuel pump is extremely reliable, with no known issues. There have been failures, but they are very rare. Much less than one would expect.

The Duramax has no lift pump. The fuel system is suction from the tank to the engine mounted fuel pump. The pump contains both a low pressure suction pump, and a high pressure injector supply pump. Pressure problems have blamed on the pump in the past, but most of the issues have been caused by the pressure regulator, not the pump.

Come back with more details and we'll be more helpful.
