My underhood light is flickering, doesn't stay on all the time and it seems as though the switch might be the cause. I can't find any reference in All Data of where this switch may be. I suspect it is under the wiper cowel. Anyone have any information? Thanks, Splitrimz.

Which underhood light are you talking about? Is it the type with the extendible lamp and crank handle? Or is it the stationary one on the hood that comes on when the hood is raised?

On my 96 I think the switch is contained in the light assembly. Its a "tip switch" activated by the angle of the hood when open.I would look at the light assembly.

Also, check your ground from the hood to the body. There is one grounding post right on the back of the firewall.

Thanks folks! I checked the ground so it must be the tilt switch. Any repair possible? Is it a dealer only item? Any other sources?

    Thanks, Splitrimz

Are you sure the bracket's not just bent? Try bending it so it's a little more "up" when the hood's open.

Thanks, bending it did the trick.
