I had an annoying rattle that started about a year ago. I had checked the manifold shields a couple times for cracks but never found any. After some close investigating last week, I found that the rattle was caused by the engine oil dipstick tube being in contact with a sheet metal shield that it snakes behind down by the motor mount. Prying that shield out away from the dipstick tube with a big screwdriver fixed the rattle. Just thought I'd pass it along.
