Put a Dynomite box on it!

Havent seen yet if the Duramaximiser gives more boost or not.

Aside from that, exhaust. We haven't been hitting peak boost and popping the wastegate, so unless you can get more fuel/airflow...

IF YOU JUST WANT MORE BOOST WITH OUT BUYING A BOX JUST PUT A SMALL NEEDLE VALVE IN YOUR WASTE GATE LINE AND OPEN IT A LITTLE. YOU CAN ADJUST IT TO GET WHATEVER BOOST YOU WANT. YOUR NOT GOING TO SEE MUCH IF ANY POWER INCREASE DOING THIS BUT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO BUILD MORE BOOST FROM MY EXPERIENCE. GET LIKE AN AQUARIUM VALVE. ITS THE VALVE IN A FISH TANK THAT CONTROLS HOW MANY BUBBLES YOU SEE IN IT. CHEAP AND SIMPLE!!!

With more boost, you must add additional fuel correct? So if you do not up fuel pressure , what's the point?

    mac,

You'll see a slight increase in performance, not huge, but noticeable. Also, my EGTs have dropped 150* under the same conditions with a stock exhaust. For only $5, it's the cheapest mod around.

Also, with a MAF, doesn't the injection system add more fuel as air flow increases?

    Regards, Steve

    Hi Mac,

As promised, pics of wastegate. I'm not using a valve, mine's just disconnected, but it would be very easy to tee in a valve and bleed off boost. I'd recommend the valve method if you really want to do this.

    Here: wastegate

SoCal,wouldnt we need more fuel to make more power,I done this mod and I saw 28psi peak boost and seemed to spool up faster but then I rehooked it back up and it seemed faster.Could you use your G-tech and see if it makes a diff. in times?

    pullinpower,

To me, it seemed faster with more boost, but then I'm running a Power Plug.

Does anyone know if the MAF automatically adds more fuel based on increased airflow?

Unfortunately, I've sent my G Tech Pro to John Kennedy as a loaner while I try to fix his.

The only substantial way to build more boost is to add more fuel. But your turbo will only generate boost to a certain point. After that point, adding more fuel will only add heat to your engine. You may build more boost, but you won't gain anything.

Also, be careful about disabling your wastegate. This gets back to the whole turbine efficiency issue. If you try to pound more gas through the turbo than it can efficiently use, you will do nothing but generate heat. But if you dump the excess gas straight out the tailpipe, you will not have such a heat problem.

Mark, my buddy made almost 500 hp with a busa today..

Look on the members forum at the thread I just posted for a link.

My busas a 13-1 compression 1397cc with nitrous.

I can get you hooked up with my local buddy here who has a sweet xx.. He makes about 300 rwhp with it. My buddy Dennis in the other link above set up the bike and tuned it.. Its a blow-through carb set up..

Big hp bikes rule.. there is nothign like it!!

All this turbo talk is making me feel funny, Who made the 500hp, let me guess NLR? Wasn't Ranger was it. Anyway back to the duramax, how much boost can one take before they go boom? Has anyone had a headgasket problem yet?

    hahaa.. cruiser..

My buddies xx is pretty damn fast!! He can walk on me till I get on the button and then its a close race.. He is running a mc express interscooled turbo system @ 15 psi. Its a sweet ride and he has done a ton of other stuff to it.

Both Team NLR ( Larry Laye ) and Velocity Racing ( Barry Henson ) have been in the 7's on busas in prostar street bike shoot out class ( SBS ) 68 inch class

This is balls to the wall.. DOT racing slick and no wheelie bars.. Try to control a 400 hp bike like that and run 7's in the qtr at 185 + mph.. Its quite a task..

Both of them are DAMN good riders!!!

At 6'5'' 215 lbs I cant get out of the mid 9's on my bike.. But thats running all motor on a stock wheelbase. My buddy Lloyd took it LOW 9's on motor alone on his first pass on it. Never sprayed at the track..

I have run about 18 lbs of nitrous through the bike so far but its all been on the open road from 130 mph to 200 + mph..

It makes for great fun when you can hoik up a wheelie at 140 mph on the button while riding with others.. You should see the look on their faces when you pick it up a couple feet and leave them like their sititng still!!

    ahhh.. what a rush!!

Im taking the Turbo GSXR 1000 and my 1397 nos busa to motorheads next month for some play time and tuning on the dyno.. Can't wait.
