Default changing a fuel pressure switch

Anyone know how hard it is to change a fuel pressure switch in an 01 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton, duramax diesel.

also wondering if its possible to buy one of those repair manuals for that type of truck. We have one for our half ton, but can't seem to find one for thsi truck.

Don't know about the switch, maybe someone will. You can probably order manuals from Helms.com, they probably are still available for the 01.

What exactly are you trying to replace? The pressure switch/sensor, or the regulator?

The fuel pressure sensor is on the fuel rail, and easily accessible.

The FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) isn't too bad. It's on the pump in the engine valley. I DO NOT suggest tackling this w/o a manual w/ good procedures. Haynes/Chilton's manuals won't help much here.

Also, have a look at www.alldatadiy.com . They offer online repair manuals at a fraction of the cost of printed books. The manuals are the same as Helm, and GM service dept. manuals, and include all bulletins and recalls. Very nice and it's searchable.
