Default LMM is Bio-Diesel Ready. Lots of $$$

You can build a 2007 900 series 2500HD on edmunds.com now. It says the LMM is Bio-Diesel ready. Does anyone know what that means? BD10 is a lot different than BD100, so I'm curious.

Also, I built three trucks. All were 2500HD 4WD Extended Cab SB with the Diesel, highest trim level available (LT3 or LTZ depending on year) and no options in an attempt at an apples to apples comparison. Here are the results.

    2007 Series 900: MSRP=$46,890
    2007 Classic: MSRP=$43,115
    2006 Series 800: MSRP=$43,240

They've unbundled the Allison and the LMM on the new ones:

    2007 Series 900: LMM = $7195 + Allison = $1200 = $8,395 TTL
2007 Classic: Code PDN (= both engine and tranny) = $7,055 TTL
2006 Seies 800: Code PDN (= both engine and tranny) = $7,555 TTL

Edmunds does a "TMV" Price "what others are paying, and here the difference is

    2007 Series 900: $46,780
    2007 Classic: $39,448
    2006 Series 800: $38,817

Now the Series 900's are not out yet, so those figures for that model are obviously guesses, but the issue is that as a new truck they will likely get close to retail for some time. Older trucks in my area in December were advertised as $10,000 off of MSRP!

Would Fall be a better time to buy?

    Question

Here's my guess... I had heard that DMAX built ahead on the LBZ, and is coasting now - holding off building LMM's in any significant volume.

If I'm reading the situation correctly, GM is hedging toward a weak demand for the GMT-900 LMM. If so, I think that's a mistake. People will want the new styling and the new diesel. So, if there aren't all that many LMM 900's on dealer lots in the months ahead, they could go for close to MSRP. Later in the year might offer better deals.
