    Default 6.2 diesel in a c-10 or 1500

    i am looking at getting a c-10 or a 1500 series pick up that i can drop a 6.2 diesel into
    are there any years or trannys that are best?

    The early 80's had stock 6.2's with 700R4 automatic tranmissions. My 80's 1500 Suburban has that and 3.73 rear end. Gets excellent fuel mileage, 22 mpg on freeway trips. Not much for towing or fast acceleration, but 20 mpg around town in a full size Suburban is ok with me.
