    Default My Tahoe

I don't think I ever uploaded pics of my Tahoe before, so here she is:

She's pretty much stock, except I swapped out the 16" OEM wheels for 15" Outlaw wheels and 31x10.50 tires. I had the OEM running boards off for a couple of years, but I recently reinstalled them so that my wife (who's expecting) can more easily get it and out of the vehicle. Once our son is born (oh yeah, did I mention we're expecting a baby boy now??? ), I'll take them back off, and look for some OEM style fender flares.

Here's what she looked like with the OEM wheels and the running boards removed:

I swapped to 15" wheels because I was able to pick up a complete set of wheels for only $50, and the 31" tires are cheaper and comparable in size to the stock 245/75R16 tires it came with. At the same time, the 31" tires on 15" wheels give the illusion of larger tires.

    Nice looking rig.

I have always wanted a 2 door Tahoe diesel.

Have yet to run across one that I can get cheap enough.

But they didn't make a 4 door Tahoe diesel!! And I'm getting to the age now where engine swaps just aren't as fun as they used to be! I doubt I'll be like Robyn and be swapping motors every few months on various rigs!!

I don't want a Suburban either....just too long wheelbase for driving everyday. I've been going through the hassle of putting 1 kid in a car seat in the back seat...I guess I can do 2!

Well Casey, I know a few people who would kindly take that 2 door Tahoe off your hands if needed. And it looks like Robyn is selling her 91 suburban. So if you get tired of crawling in the back to buckle the kids in, maybe we can help!

I know what you mean though. My wife and I are thinking about having our first which means we absolutely have to replace her car (2003 VW Beetle). Also makes my regular cab truck kind of impractical.

When our little girl was on her way, we owned the Tahoe, my '81 regular cab pickup, and a 94 Jeep Wrangler YJ. All three vehicles were two doors! So, we ended up selling the Jeep to get a minivan (Chrysler T&C).

The minivan is nice, but I'd much rather drive the Tahoe. So even though it's more of a hassle, I'll usually end up using that vehicle when we're all together. But since most of my driving is just commuting to work, I don't feel the need for a larger personal vehicle yet, and I love the Tahoe just as she is.

I finally sold my pickup since our needs had changed. But, that allowed me to purchase another Jeep again! And this time around, I won't have to sell it for a minivan!
