    Default Payload question

Have owned a 94 Z71 w/6.5TD for 10 months now bought it from orig. owner, 3.73, 4L80E, 14 Bolt semi-floater, Rpo code F44 (heavy duty chassis) question is could i install an add-a-leaf spring set and regard this truck as a three quarter ton or is there something i'm missing (besides eight lugs) it appears to be a heavy half (6600 GVW) or is this frame a smaller wall thickness than standard three quarter ton? can I switch over to eight lugs or is this rear end non-interchangeable, sorry if this has been gone over before. Thanks for any input.

The frames are different, but you could upgrade the rear end and springs (add-a-leaf, airbags, etc.). However, this won't make it a "3/4 ton". The GVWR and registered (legal) weight limits will still apply. The 1/2 ton also has lighter brakes, front and rear (most important for loading).
